Over the last few years
Cornwall has been opening up connective
cycle tracks over the whole county.
We were lucky enough
in Pentewan to have the start of one
of these tracks built along the old
China clay railway path in 1995.
Since then more tracks
have opened up around the china clay
area. The hope is that one day the
whole of Cornwall will be connected
by tracks with minimal road crossings.
For now anyone with
the energy and a bike (which can be
hired form the village) can cycle
to Eden saving money on entrance fees
for arriving by a green method or
you could explore the old china clay
area or cycle into Mevagissey or up
to Heligan or head to St. Austell
which is all flat cycling.
Bodmin to Padstow is
quite a long track that can be shorted
by either starting or finishing at
Wadebridge. The Wadebridge to Padstow
is quite a pretty stretch as it runs
along the Camel estuary.
Devoran to Porthscatho
is another track that can be broken
into two halves by starting at Redruth.
