The Cove

The Cove is a homely B&B, run by Gill and Alison Avery. All the rooms are spacious and en suite, and all the beds have comfortable memory foam toppers, with king sized beds in all the double rooms. The stable room is situated in the cottage next door to the main building, on the ground floor with access straight from the lane. Guests staying in this room still have access to the main building to make use of the guest lounge area provided, where they can sit and relax, read or play a board game, or share a bottle of wine in the evening.

Breakfast at The Cove caters for all dietary needs and preferences, from the classic full English, to freshly cut fruit salad.

The Cove is only a 2 1/2 minute walk away from Pentewan beach, but on the not so sunny days, there is a sun terrace with a blind that overlooks the pretty village square, where guests can sit and watch the world go by. The village has free parking, with a lovely local pub just around the corner serving evening meals daily, along with another restaurant just a couple of minutes’ walk away. During the day, The Cove itself is also a café, where several fresh batches of scones are made throughout each day, and if you're lucky you may arrive just as the scones come out of the oven. Next door to the café is a gift shop selling a large selection of Cornish ice cream and gifts, along with locally made Cornish pasties.

Pentewan is ideally situated to visit any area of Cornwall and so makes a great base for day tripping around the county without the hassle of moving on every couple of days.

The Green Room

This is spacious Georgian style double room has a Queen size bed. The room is not only front facing thereby enjoying the morning sun but also has views over the pretty village square, which makes a perfect back drop for writing those post cards home. The room boasts an en-suite with a double sized shower, heated towel rail, tea and coffee making tray, TV/video, radio clock alarm, hair drier, full length mirror. The room temperature is controlled by the guests to ensure their comfort.

Each side of the bed has it's own lamp and the light above the bed can be turned on and off without you having to get out of bed.

~ Price based on two sharing for a stay longer than one night would be £85 (£42.50 per person) per night, full breakfast inclusive.

The Blue Room

This is a light and spacious double en-suite attic room with lots of charm, character and afternoon sunshine.

Along with the double bed there is a very comfortable spare bed. This makes the room suitable for families as well as couples.

It has a double size shower tray in the en-suite room, a heated towel rail, TV/video, tea and coffee making tray, hairdryer and digital radio clock alarm. The heating is controlled by the occupant of the room for their comfort as is the fan for those hot summer days and balmy nights.

By each side of the double bed there is a lamp and the main lights can be turned on and off once you are comfortably lying in bed.

The room is located on the second floor and although this only means an extra 18 steps it may not be suitable for those less steady on their legs or with serious health problems. The charm of this room however has made it one of our most sought after rooms.

The Pink Room

Currently being refurbished.

Is our most versatile room. It is en-suite with a double bed and a single bed, which means it can cater for single occupancy, twin, double or family room. Located on the first floor landing it is front facing and overlooks the village square. Morning light will flood into this beautiful spacious Georgian room brightening the start of your day as you pull back the curtains.

The heated towel rail along with the room heating being controlled by the guests of the room ensuring a room temperature comfortable for you. A tea and coffee making tray is provided along with a full length mirror, radio clock alarm, TV/video and a hairdryer.

A bedside lamp is to the left of the double bed along with another lamp in between the double and the single bed. The main light can be controlled from the double bed.

The Hawkin’s Room

This is a charming twin bedded en-suite room situated at the rear in the oldest part of the building (over 400 years old). The thickness of the walls along with slightly sloping ceiling reflects this along with all the character that goes with old buildings.

Sir Christopher Hawkins was the founder of Pentewan harbour and the main building was once a tavern called 'The Hawkins Arms'. It seemed fitting to name one of our rooms (along with one of our cats) Hawkins.

The en-suite has a double sized shower, toilet and sink along with a porthole for light and ventilation.

Situated on the first floor landing 'The Hawkins' room has a television, refreshment making facilities, a bed side light for each bed, radio clock alarm, central light controlled from the wall, heated towel rail in the en-suite and a large (although not completely full length) mirror, hairdryer and a wall mounted panel heater controlled by the occupants of the room.
